A couple things I’d like to add: Children are one of the primary reasons that young women end their educations, and should not be considered just a symptom of poverty but one of its predominant causes.  Abstinence-only education not only doesn’t cause any significant delay in age of first intercourse, but increases the chance that the couple will not use protection. Younger mothers are harsher with their children than older ones. Maternal harshness is linked to an earlier onset of puberty which leads to higher rates of sexual risk taking in adolescence, further increasing the chance that the next generation will be born to young, inexperienced and poor mothers! Santorum, you are a miserable excuse for a public official and the idea that anyone would favor you for president of this country terrifies me.
